FUE Hair Transplant & Hair Restoration in Greensboro, NC

Hair loss doesn’t stop for anything. The longer you wait to address it, the worse it gets, which means the follicles you protect now are the ones you keep. A hair transplant moves healthy follicles from the back of your scalp to the areas that are thinning, so the hair that grows in is your own and is meant to last.

At Radiant Medical Aesthetics and Hair Restoration, Dr. AJ Marcellino evaluates your hair loss, explains your options honestly, and recommends a transplant only when it makes sense. You get a surgeon’s judgment and a plan built around your goals, not a sales pitch.

Whether you’re noticing the first signs of thinning in your twenties or have lived with hair loss for decades, a consultation is the first step toward knowing what is possible for you.

Dr. Marcellino’s surgical background shapes every part of your hair transplant, from hairline design to donor area planning. Her evaluation looks at what is causing your hair loss, how it is likely to progress, and how much donor hair you have to work with. If a transplant isn’t the right move yet, or you aren’t a good candidate for one, she’ll walk you through medical options, including prescription therapies and FoLix laser treatment.

Dr. Marcellino is a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), a professional organization dedicated to hair restoration surgery.

Personalized FUE transplant planning

FUE stands for follicular unit extraction. Individual follicles are taken from the back or sides of your scalp and placed into thinning areas. This method avoids the long strip incision used in older techniques. Tiny marks can remain where follicles are removed, and Dr. Marcellino will explain what to expect as you heal.

Candidacy depends on your hair loss pattern, donor hair density, age, and goals. Patients range from men in their mid-twenties to men in their sixties. Starting earlier can preserve more of your natural follicles, which is why many people come in sooner than they planned. Your consultation will show where you stand and whether a transplant, medical therapy, or both makes sense.

FUE is not the right fit for everyone. Tightly coiled or curly hair can be very difficult to transplant, and darker skin tones can carry a higher risk of keloid scarring. If you plan to shave your head, keep in mind that tiny marks from the donor area may be visible with very short hair. Dr. Marcellino will tell you honestly whether FUE makes sense for you.

Treatments like minoxidil and finasteride can slow thinning or help some people regrow hair, but results vary, and they don’t bring back follicles that are already gone. Dr. Marcellino can review what you are already using and check for underlying causes. She will tell you whether medical treatment alone is enough or whether surgery is worth discussing.

Traveling for a transplant can look cheaper up front, but it leaves you far from your surgeon during recovery. At Radiant, a board-certified surgeon performs and manages your procedure right here in Greensboro, so questions and follow-up visits are easy. Your consultation fee also counts toward treatment, so you can get a clear plan before committing to anything. Patients who agree to let Dr. Marcellino use their before-and-after photos can also receive a modeling discount on treatment.

Every follicle you save today is one you keep tomorrow. Meet with Dr. AJ Marcellino at our Greensboro office to review your hair loss, learn what FUE can and cannot do for you, and get a plan that fits your goals.

If you decide to move forward, your consultation fee is credited toward your treatment. Patients open to sharing their before-and-after photos can also ask about a modeling discount. Call (336) 438-2148 to take the first step.
